Savory Monkey Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • sticks 12 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tubes crescent rolls The original Pillsbury works well
  • Additional ingredients of your choice:
  • Chopped fresh dill and chives
  • Chopped hazelnuts
  • Grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Crushed cheddar cheese
  • Smoked paprika
  • Honey-roasted chopped nuts
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Chili powder
  • Roasted black sesame seeds
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray a 9“-10” tube or pan with cooking spray.
  • Carefully roll each chilled crescent roll into a ball and roll in the melted butter.
  • Roll each ball in your chosen ingredients, making sure to coat all sides.
  • Place the dough balls in the prepared tube or tray.
  • Sprinkle the remaining melted butter over the dough balls.
  • Bake the monkey bread at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Cover the pan with aluminum foil loosely if it browns too quickly.
  • Transfer the bread to a cooling rack for 10 minutes. Loosen the edges (and the center) with a sharp knife and turn the bread over onto a plate larger than the bread. Immediately turn the bread over onto a serving plate. It should be served in the same position in which it was cooked in the pan.
