Start with 1 tablespoon of basil seeds per 1 cup of liquid (water, juice, or milk).
Add the basil seeds to about ½ cup of water and let them sit about for about 5 minutes until they expand.
You’ll see them expand and form a jelly-like coating. When ready they will look like this:
If they seem too thick, add more water. If they’re too thin, let them soak a bit longer.
Sweeten the drink by stirring honey or sugar into the fruit juice until fully dissolved.
Combine everything by adding the soaked basil seeds (with their water) into the juice mixture. Stir well.
Add ice and garnish with fresh fruit or mint leaves for extra flavor.
